Hi there! I'm JR, I host the afternoon show here on Q Country! I'm excited to be a part of the Abilene community! I've been in radio way too long, and in Texas not long enough! I've worked in San Angelo, College Station and Lubbock. I've been in the Texas Country scene since about 2008, and I love going out to see live shows. I've been lucky enough to be on stage introduce artists at concerts in Texas, Colorado, Arizona, California, Georgia and Kansas. If you can't tell, I love to travel. KORQ is known as Q-Country. We Play a Blend of Outlaw Country from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s along with a good mix of Texas Country/Red Dirt artist. What makes us unique, is our catering to the farming community. We air a wide variety of Farm and Ranch News along with 3 different 10-minute segments of local news each morning.
Community Broadcast Partners was formed in 2013.
The company was started with the goal of providing a radio company that is focused on the needs of the community, which includes the Listeners and the Advertisers. Our goal is to provide unique ideas for our listeners and advertisers, that make our audience look forward to listening to us and provide unparalleled service and value to our clients. Community Broadcast Partners has two radio stations, KORQ and KABW and is based in Abilene, TX.
